The Challengers Baseball and Softball Club Zurich was founded in 1980 and is one of the founding members of the Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation. The senior and junior teams won several national championships in baseball and have already played thirteen times in European Cup competitions. The softball team was re-built in 2003 and belongs to the top teams in Switzerland ever since. The Challengers won the national crown in 2006 and finished second in 2005 and 2007. The team participates in the European Cup for the third time in a row. The C's finished in fourth place in Blagoevgrad 2006 and in San Marino 2007.
