The Therwil Flyers (www.therwil-flyers.ch) are one of two baseball and softball clubs situated near the city of Basle and their softball team has dominated the Swiss league in the past 5 years, winning 4 championship titles. With a total of 8 softball and 7 baseball national titles the Therwil Flyers are the most successful club in Switzerland. The Flyers Baseball and Softball Team Therwil was founded in 1980 and leads one of the most elaborate junior programmes in the country. For several years the Flyers softball team has been supported by top US college players. This year Jennifer Feret (Ohio, USA) and Colleen Conway (Minnesota, USA) are helping bring Flyers Softball to another level. In addition, with Melanie Wanner, the Flyers have the best current Swiss Softball Player on their roster. On a national level the Flyers are placed 1st with a staggering 16-1 win record and are looking to reclaim their title come post-season, which commences in Mid September. After just missing the bronze medal at last years ECWC in Prague, the aspirations for the tournament in Dupnitsa are high.
